Inserting a button from an external source

You can choose a button from a Fireworks library or from another Fireworks document. When you import a button from an external source, Fireworks remembers the source. Then, if the source file changes, you can update the imported button to reflect the changed original.

To insert a ready-made button into the document:

1 Choose a library:
Choose Insert > Libraries > Other and choose the button library or Fireworks document from which you want to insert a button.
Choose Open to navigate to a button library outside of the Fireworks 3 \ Settings \ Libraries folder.
2 Choose a symbol from the library and click Import.

To update an imported button:

1 In the Library panel, select the button symbol to update.
2 Choose Update from the Library panel Options pop-up.
Fireworks updates the imported button to match the appearance of the original button.
